Step 3. Set up your Google Home device
A volume above 80 decibels can be harmful to hearing. When the volume exceeds 120 decibels, direct damage can even occur. The chance of hearing damage depends on the listening frequency and duration.
The device and its power adaptor generate heat during normal operation and comply with applicable surface temperature standards and limits. Avoid prolonged, direct or indirect skin contact when the device is in use, because exposing skin to hot surfaces for a long period of time may cause discomfort or burns. Do not sleep on or with your device or its power adaptor, or cover them with a blanket or pillow. You may damage the device if you disassemble, drop, bend, burn, crush or puncture it. Do not use a Nest Mini with a damaged enclosure.
Troubleshooting setup
Tap the device that you want to link to your voice. Bluetooth is a way of exchanging data wirelessly between electronic devices via radio waves. The distance between the two devices that exchange data can in most cases be no more than ten metres. You’ll be able to opt out of some settings, like Voice Match or personal results. You can change these settings at any time after you complete setup. If the device has been used before, factory reset your speaker or display before you continue.
Scroll down to device settings, then tapAmbient Mode. You can also select a default option on the same screen where you linked your account. If a default option is selected, you will not be required to state the service’s name. Once completed, you’ll be able to activate streaming through these services with nothing more than your voice. Simply say “OK Google, play [insert song/station] on .” From there, Google Home will begin playback.

Prolonged exposure to loud sounds can cause hearing loss. To prevent possible hearing damage, avoid listening at high volume for prolonged periods of time. Continued exposure to high volumes and background noise can make loud sounds seem quieter than they actually are. Check the volume before using headphones or earphones. The separate collection and recycling of your product and its electrical accessories will help conserve natural resources, protect human health and help the environment. This device operates using radio signals and may not establish or maintain a connection in all conditions.
Keep Nest Mini’s cable out of the reach of children (more than 1 metre/3 feet away) and do not allow them to play with Nest Mini and its accessories. They could hurt themselves or others or could accidentally damage the product. Next, link any music, video and live TV services you want to use with your Nest Hub. If you've already connected the streaming services you use to your Google account with another Google Home device, they should appear here automatically, so you can skip this step. You can use the Google Nest Hub just like a Google Nest smart speaker to ask just about any question you can think of.

Don’t expose your Google Home Max to liquids, which can cause a short circuit and overheating. Do not use your Google Home Max in the bathroom. Google Home Max is designed to work best in ambient temperatures between 0o and 40o C. Do not expose your Google Home Max to direct sunlight. You can control smart devices that are compatible with Google Assistant, such as speakers, displays, thermostats, lights, and plugs, with the Google Home app.
Unplug the Nest Hub and power adaptor before cleaning, during lightning storms or when unused for extended periods of time. Do not clean your Nest Hub while it is energised as this may cause injury or damage to your device. Avoid solvent and abrasive material that may cause damage to the product surface.
If you receive a message while powering that instructs you to unplug the power adaptor, disconnect the power adaptor. Before attempting to power up again, make sure that both the power adaptor cable connector and the device's input power port are dry and clear of any objects. Unplug the device and adaptor before cleaning, during lightning storms or when unused for extended periods of time.

Night mode is very similar but not quite the same as Downtime, in that it allows you to still use your Google Home Hub or Google Home devices but with fewer distractions and a lower volume. Not only does it adjust for the lighting conditions, but you can also personalize what your Home Hub shows in Ambient Mode. That includes linking to your Google Photos, you can show art from around the world or even just a simple clock face.
